What do you find most rewarding about working at Dowling & Yahnke?

The people and how we all live out the core beliefs in everything we do.

Why did you join Dowling & Yahnke?

I wanted to be a part of something genuine. Symbolism over substance is so common these days. I strive to be at least 3% better today than I was yesterday, and if you surround yourself with successful people, you will always have motivation, accountability, an unyielding skill of perseverance, and will leave behind a legacy of excellence. Dowling & Yahnke allows me to have and experience all of this.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

The mountains at above 7,000 feet. It reminds me of how small I really am and helps put life in perspective. The path up there may be brutal, but the view is so much better.

What is the best concert you ever attended?

Celtic Woman. I absolutely love music and my wonderful husband managed to secure Center Stage, row 5 seats for us the day of the concert. Miracle worker, that man is! I do believe the heavens echoed in song that night!

What is your favorite family tradition?

Putting up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, listening to the classic Christmas songs, and spending the rest of the weekend baking Christmas treats. My parents started this tradition when my siblings and I were very young, and we still do it today!

What is your favorite hobby?

Singing – because it heals my soul and brings great joy.

What is your personal motto or mantra?

“Haud Unquam Cede” which means, “Don’t ever yield.” It is the Parsons’ family creed. Both my late parents experienced intense hardship throughout their lives and purposed to live out this mantra daily. This is their legacy and my heritage, both of which are alive and well within me.

Can you play any instruments? When did you start?

Yes! Piano. My father bought me a piano when I was ten. He and my mother instilled within me a deep love for music.

Do you have a hidden talent?

Believe it or not, when I was in high school, I used to be able to dunk a basketball. Today, not so much!
