Why did you join Dowling & Yahnke?

Prior to joining Dowling and Yahnke, I served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot and F/A-18 Super-Hornet instructor. In those roles, I had the privilege to work with an extremely capable and dedicated group of individuals who put the organization above themselves to accomplish the job. I saw those same qualities in the team at Dowling & Yahnke reflected in their passion to always put the clients’ interests first.

Why did you become a financial advisor?

I really enjoy the science of finance and the financial markets. I also knew that I wanted to be in a position where I could help people in an incredibly important and meaningful way. Being a financial advisor allows me to combine my interest in finance with my desire to help clients achieve their financial goals through the power of research-backed investment strategies.

What is your favorite place in San Diego?

I am a huge baseball fan, so I always enjoy watching the Padres play at Petco Park. Although, as a Northeast Ohio native, my loyalties will always lie with the Cleveland Indians.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Kaneohe Bay on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. To get to our favorite beach, you have to drive across an active runway, making sure to look both ways for any planes taking off or landing before crossing.

What is your favorite hobby?

I am attempting to read a biography of every president of the United States and visit their official library and museum. Touring a presidential library is a great way to learn more about the history of America, as well as experience the uniqueness of the presidents and the era in which they lived. For example, the Ronald Reagan Library has a Boeing 707 Air Force One that multiple presidents flew on, and Richard Nixon’s library is built around the actual house in which he was born.

Do you have any pets?

I have a 110-pound Bernese Mountain Dog. He likes to give hugs, has no depth perception, and is completely unaware of his size . . . so watch out!
