Dale holds the designations Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), and has a Master’s Degree in Business, Finance (MBA) from San Diego State University. Dale completed his undergraduate work at Claremont McKenna College with a degree in Economics. For the fourth consecutive year, Dale was listed as one of Barron’s Top 100 Independent Financial Advisers. He was the only adviser in San Diego to be so recognized. Prior to Dowling & Yahnke, Dale worked for six years as a financial analyst with the law firm of Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich (now known as DLA Piper US LLP). He has served as an expert witness in investment and securities related matters.
Dale is actively engaged in the community. He has served on the Board of Trustees for Voices for Children, Kids Included Together, and the Planned Giving Committee at the University of California, San Diego. He is a member of the CFA Society of San Diego, Inc. and the CFA Institute. He has been a member of the Children’s Hospital Planned Giving Board, the San Diego Estate Planning Council, and the La Jolla Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Section. For more than ten years, Dale served as Treasurer on the Board of Trustees for the San Diego Museum of Man. Currently, he is on the Board of Trustees of the Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation, on the Voices for Children Community Advisory Council, and is Treasurer on the Board of Trustees for the Junior Seau Foundation. Dale is a native of San Diego, living in Carmel Valley with his wife and two children.
